I was going to make a post about Viking movies – the good, the bad and the ugly (most of them are in the latter category, unfortunately) – when I came over this amazing run-through of every Viking movie ever made. Check out the list and read all the comments. They were very thorough!

Here is my favorite Viking movie. It isn`t long, but it`s incredibly cute!

Thank you for this wonderful list, and also the list of 10 best Scandinavian actors. They were a lot of fun. irene

You`re welcome. I must admit that I was pretty impressed with this movie list. I`d seen maybe ten (maybe more but definitely not all of them) of them – and I`ve always been fascinated with Vikings. Most of them I didn`t even know existed.
I don`t agree with them on all the movies. I hated Thor and I kind of loved The Raven Flies. But still … It`s a very cool list.

D!!! We loved that little movie 🙂 the guy in Valhalla laughing when he gets an axe in his head was great. I loved all the stuff poor Bjorn was carrying before those pesky nuns condemned him to elevator music heaven! My husband felt very sorry for him. The scaredy cat monster was great and I loved the guy who was hit by lightning. Can you tell I just loved it????

I think I`ve watched that little film 50 times since I saw it the first time a while back. And I can probably watch it another 50 times without getting tired of it. So many cute little details. And the ending…. hilarious 😀

The movie list is great too, the writer is funny. Some to try and check out there, I’d forgotten Noggin the Nog!

Unfortunately it does`t seem like there are a lot of great Viking movies out there. I did like Raven Flies when I saw it back in the 80s but when I bought it on Iceland a year ago it was … well, let`s just say that it had lost a bit through the years (or I remembered it as better than it was). But it`s still a good movie to get that Viking feeling 🙂
