I wanted to make a list of the best contemporary Scandinavian music but quickly realized that I hadn’t been paying attention. Luckily, I have a daughter who spends quite a few hours every day listening to music and luckily she doesn’t mind teaching her stone age-based mother a thing or two about what I should be listening to.

Here is her list. Check it out and see if you find something you like!

That looks interesting. I’m going to have fun listening to some new music 🙂

I must admit that most of it was new to me as well so I had fun listening to it too (while my daughter was breathing down my neck, wondering what I thought of her favorite music 😀 ).

      I hope you enjoy it!

This is one of my faves with a fan video by a guy who should be a pro. It is about Varangians who were Norse and Finns together, so I guesss it counts as Scandinavian.

  3. Well I heard about 5 of these scandinavian artists with a pre-teenager son!
I guess Avicii is known worldwide, his music is always on the radio and Madcon had a brilliant hit song last year.
Zara Larsson and Lucas Graham are the ones my son is listening to right now!
Can’t wait to listen to these other artists.

Have fun listening to these 🙂

I had no idea that any of these artists were known outside of Scandinavia. Yay for them!

I enjoyed all the songs, some of them weren’t available in the us but I’m going to search online for them. Thanks for sharing, I love hearing new music from around the world.

I’m sorry that some of the songs weren’t available to you, I had no idea. But I’m glad you enjoyed the rest of them! I’ll tell my daughter, she’ll be pleased 🙂

I almost wondered if I was too old for some of it, but I really liked it, thanks for sharing.

  5. Buttercup says:

I really like Mads Langer, Lukas Graham and Seynabo Sey. Thank your daughter for me. Would she consider doing this a couple times a year?

    1. thyra10 says:

      I will 🙂
And I’ll ask her. I think she liked doing this so she might be willing to do it again.
